Strengths & Weaknesses/References

January 28, 2008

Strengths & Weaknesses:

An obvious weakness in this activity is human error. In entering data into the calculator or SPSS, one could easily make a mistake. However, the calculator and SPSS are also strengths, because having to calculate these statistics by hand would create even more error. Some factors of weakness go back to our first assignment of taking our body temperatures. Factors such as weather, not being able to take your temperature consistently, eating hot or cold food, and other reasons add to reasons why these readings may not be the most reliable. Another weakness is the lack of data points collected. If we took our temperature for additional weeks it would help make our findings more accurate.

I agree with your weakness. I found I had to go back and re-check the numbers I put in 2-3 times.

For the article we used, Mac Ewen didn’t actually cite it for us in APA. You need to re-cite this.

    Hey Carolyn:

Your last comment was good, but you may want to make you next comments a little longer. You can do this by telling ‘why’ you made that comment.

Okay I think this is the right blog. I’m just responding to your (cduff1si) comment about putting the histograms from SPSS onto the blog. I clicked on the histogram and copied it to the clipboard. Then I pasted it into a Word document where I could save the individual graphic as a GIF. Then I just added it to the blog like any other GIF. Hope this helps! I thought my histogram might show how exactly my data were distributed so maybe it might help with your assignment too. (I hope this is the right blog!)
